Thank you so much for this! Severus trapped in isolation, but having just enough to keep his mind active that he isn't insane; Harry trapped in marriage, loving the children it produces but not his wife, unable to have a real marriage – you make it so vivid. You show convincingly the sympathy each gradually develops for the other as Harry unknowingly pursues Severus – who is quite as oblivious as Harry, for a while, to his own responses. Then you show Harry growing up, learning, and finally working out how to rescue both himself and Severus. Lovely.
Your wizarding world is as broken as ever, with its ingenious corrupt politicians, enabled by magic to do things the most corrupt and greedy of Muggle politicians would never dream of aspiring to, and in general being a lot more stupid and reckless about it, too. That baby boom might come to an abrupt halt quite soon, then what will the Minister do to keep her position? Especially now her Head Auror has a neat line in blackmail. He's probably not the only one, either. *dreams of a follow-up where someone more altruistic/less in dire need than Harry forces sensible solutions for problems on the Minister ...* *herds bunny into hatch for consideration*
You made me feel for them, and look forward to their future, with a whole lot more than That Kiss promising happiness and compatability.
