I’m so glad I didn’t stop reading after the first two extracts from ”Connecting the Dots” had revealed what was going on. I would’ve missed some truly wonderful interaction between Harry and Severus, what with all those small but significant, insightfully depicted episodes bearing witness to their mutual love and commitment to each other and showing how strong their relationship had grown.
Although I cried a lot, I don’t think this was a sad or overly sentimental story. At least not in those parts I enjoyed the most, like when Severus was dicing the odd-looking shrivelfigs and when the new, roomy cauldron was tested or when they disagreed on whose arse had been admired. *g*
Also, Harry’s concern, worries and tiredness felt realistic, as did Severus’ frustration over being forced to speak plainly. And I really admired their way of handling everything. This really was the gentle tale you promised; uplifting, beautiful and very engaging. Aptly titled, too.
