Oh I loved this! I read a few paragraphs in and decided it was print worthy to be read in the bath - my favorite place to read. And wow I was not disappointed.
I read so few fandom stories these days that I really choose my stories carefully, and this brought back my love of the fandom of old - or maybe back in the day when things still felt fresh and new to me.
I loved the complicated mess that Severus had made of things, and Harry, who was so independent and so very needy in a childlike way. And I have to say, you completely blindsided me with Julian. I didn't foresee that happening at all.
I loved how it ended - on that note of hope, where two porcupines, if veeeery careful, will be able to mate and share their den very happily.
Captains Courageous was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I would sell my soul to get my hands of an audio copy of Snape reading it!
