Oh my gosh, it took me so long to figure out what is going on. I kept thinking how can it be canon to have both boys together. LOL *feels stupid* So they are *not* together, but it shows that they had similar sort of childhood. You know, I kept thinking how I like the bars of light on Harry, and then ages later it clicked that it's the light coming in through the door on his cupboard. Also I kept thinking how I love the green colour on the wall and the shadows fighting (but that was more obvious). So am I now right? Did I get it? LOL Well, it's a beautiful and amazing work. :-) Two unloved boys... *sad* Who find love in each other *encouraged*

Eeeeheeee! I was originally worried that I was being too obtuse about what was depicted in the picture, but I hoped that I added enough visual clues for people to connect canon to it, heee. So it makes me sooo happy that your confusion was quickly dissipated, it's such a success for me artistically! *cheers* Thank you so much!

I MAKE THE EFFORT TO LOG IN FOR YOU!

You know, I think in the back of my head I knew this about Harry and Snape, that there was that avenue of comparison, but I never really thought about it and now that I have, thanks to your art, I feel like I get this ship so much more. And not just for the sexings opportunities, but I guess like the heart of it, the dynamics and the whys and the hows and such. B/c for most people, they like a ship for many reasons, and I never really thought about all the stuff there is to work with for Snarry.

I really feel like this piece does that (at least for me) because you've got similar negative situations, you've got them in a similar position (and I know that seems really basic, but it really does help get the message across), and they colours going on. It's just perfect for what you wanted to say (or what I'm guessing you wanted to say). It also makes me remember that Snape didn't have an easy go of things, and I sometimes forget that b/c it's not explicitly written about to later on in the series.

Art just works so well to help me understand/see things, I wish you could draw philosophy for me. Though it's not that I don't get, it's that I don't want to think about it. XD

Omg, Brown Sugar (wai yes, i did just call you that), I really love the juxtaposition of colors here. Your shading is perfect for the tension so subtley inherent in this scene. My sleeping pills are kicking in now so I ought to go to bed now but umm, if my vote counts, 9 9 and 9, which I think is also the emergency services number here in Japan..., but yea, you rock my world, and you are my huckleberry.

Dood, I love that texture -- what'd you do, scan in a piece of rice paper? It's all flecky and gorgeous.

PLUS, OMG YAY, this is a little different than your usual stylings, and fabulous as always.

Absosmurfly GORGEOUS! God, I am so, so jealous at how you are able to convey so much with your skillfully simple lines. Their natural postures, the way their hair moves, the expressions on their faces... BAH! The juxtaposition is so genius. And the colors, the colors! Beautiful contrast and ughh the shadows and lighting are so subtle but so powerful! I LOVE YOUUUUUU, please teach me your ways ;__;
(And ay, ay, when you gonna let me color some of your art? *does want* !!!!!! Seriously, you drawings are killing me with how good they are! ♥ )

wow this is a powerful piece. The contrasts in their expressions is wonderful. Harry's hand clenching into the mattress and Severus' broken posture, wow.
the shadow of Severus' parents is shocking and powerful.
The slash of colour between them that looks like blood seeping on the wall is eerie, frightening and beautiful.

I sometimes think our best work comes when we have the least amount of time to overthink it.

In relative silence, I've watched your work over the years, and it has been such a joy to watch your art mature. I truly think this is one of your best, not because the 'work' is so good or the technique is so fine, but because you 'got it'; your art gifted us with two lives' emotions and fears and even the hidden dreams. And after you dared us to ignore them, you made us 'get it' until we felt every last piece of what you wanted to convey.

This is so *very* well done. Thank you.

WOW!!!!! So sad and so cute at the same time. I love how you play with their respective house colours to express their different ways of reacting. I want to hug and cuddle them tight. (Especially Sev, no offence, Harry *wink*) I melted from the cuteness of their mouths and feet. Bless them...

A very clever and poignant illustration of how neglect and abuse affect children emotionally. It reminds me once again of how very alike Severus and Harry’s childhood experiences were, despite the superficial differences. You’ve managed to put their parallel stories in a compelling pictorial nutshell. Also, this picture forces me to think about canon and what’ll happen to them later and what might have been.

I love the way you’ve depicted Severus’ helplessness and Harry’s anger through their wonderfully expressive hands. Both their faces are so sad and wary, as if they‘re waiting for the worst to happen. It’s heartbreaking, not least because those feelings seem awfully realistic. They must be familiar to all children in similar circumstances.

The blood-red floor under their feet is chilling.

This is beautiful. At first I admit I was confused, because I thought they were 'together' at this time, then I realized, Snape is way too young and it is an image from both of their childhoods.

Poor Snape looks so resigned. He needs love. *hugs Snape* and I love the fire in Harry's gaze. He's burning.

This is completely magnificent, Glock! I love the subtle texture you've used, and the colours work brilliantly. And the light! The shadows over Snape and the slatted light over Harry! Perfect!!

Such a powerful image - so much is said in their faces, their clothes, the position of their arms, their feet, the background, the colors...it fits the genre/prompt really well.
