Very intriguing. My first thought was that Harry is trying to bring Snape back by doing some obscure summoning ritual, but it looks more like he‘s offering himself to something/somebody, what with his sacrificial position, the strange symbol on his back (how did that happen?) and all the blood. If that’s true, the amount of guilt must have become unbearable, or maybe it’s the loneliness, provided that he’d been the “sole survivor”.
The contrast between the warm candlelight surrounding Harry and Snape’s eerily coloured apparition(?) is startling, yet beautiful. Harry’s broken glasses make me sad. Snape’s horrified eyes and alarmed demeanour add to the anxiety. All of a sudden, I feel grateful for not being able to see Harry’s face.
My favourite part is how you’ve illustrated Snape’s emergence. I love the “mist” and its effect on the picture. Does it come from Harry and cause his weakening? Also, I’m fascinated by how the frame becomes the floor, or vice versa. Oh, Snape has a shadow. More and more mysterious...
