CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 25 - A_belladonna!
We welcome another veteran:

Your Name: [info]a_belladonna
Your Team: Team Phoenix
Archive: (optional) No, not really. :(

1. Which HP character gives you the most trouble to draw?

Mostly the minor characters, I don't have a clear "inner image" of them. Of the bigger characters, probably Neville, because he doesn't really have a "special something" - Lupin has his patched robes and greying hair, Snape his hooked nose and long, greasy hair, Hagrid is really big, Hermione has curly hair etc...but to me Neville doesn't really have a characteristic. Not that it's prevented me from drawing him, though! ;)

2. What was the first fandom you ever produced art for?

If by "producing" you mean "posting online and sharing it with others", it was HP. But I drew (and slashed) Tintin back when I was like 4 or 5 years old.

3. Has your experience in fandom changed the way you do art? How?

I hope people won't think I'm conceited, but I think I've improved a little. And I've grown really fond of watercolours.

4. In a Snape/Harry/(Your team's Mascot) cage match, who wins?

Snape'd probably hex the living sh*t out of Harry and the Phoenix. ;)

5. What are your favourite mediums to work with?

Natural mediums: Watercolour, pencil and pigment ink pens on paper.

6. What do you consider your strongest talent? Your weakest?

Perhaps colouring, and thinking up scenarios. As for my weakest: Executing my ideas and just about everything else.

7. Is there a piece of art that you think is your absolute best so far? Would you link it for us?

My [info]snarry_games entry from last year. The scan doesn't really do it justice, though, IMO.

8. What (or who) inspires you in Fandom?

Fanfiction has really inspired me a lot, as well has participating in fests and exchanges.

9. Fanfic writers often say the best compliment they can get for their stories is unsolicited fanart. What would you consider the highest form of compliment for your fanart?

Probably unsolicited fanfiction.

10. Are you excited about being in the Games this year?

Of course! It's going to be great! :D

Thank you, [info]a_belladonna! Stay tuned for more Champion Interviews, and some Opening Games Surprises!

Do you want to add anything more about drawing and slashing Tintin? I'd really like to know about that.

Interesting what you had to say about portraying minor characters. I've had the same problem as a writer, sort of needing to build them from the ground up. Never thought about it from an artist's standpoint, but I guess we'd be in the same boat.

Looking forward to your entry!

Totally know what you mean about Neville! JKR needs to describe her characters more, darnit. Even the peripheral ones! XD
