A warm, romantic tale. The OCs were wonderfully written. I enjoyed the theme of the past events repeating themselves in the present generation. And Love triumphing somehow in the end, no matter how long it may take. Harry and Severus, Albus Severus and Scorpius, Liam and Marion. The Potters and the Malfoys. Rivalries and feuds. As the saying goes “Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.” The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I loved the unknown bond between Harry and Severus and how in severing it Harry was able to rouse a comatose Snape, who was then able to continue on with his life. Snape seemed so much more relaxed and at peace with himself, no longer bad-tempered and morose. He was laughing so easily during the first meeting with Potter. o_O Laughing! Our surly potions master! Who’d a thunk it?!
Harry with flashes of precognition was very interesting and his relationship with his children was full of warmth, love, and understanding.
I felt sad for poor Al. Was he ever again able to find love with someone else? I hate the thought of him growing old alone. Yes, he had his brother and sister, nieces and nephew but it’s not quite the same, going home to an empty house.
I enjoyed how Harry and Snape started out as just friends and Harry subtly courts Severus. They finally kiss and then I was a bit put off by the following scenes with poor Ginny and Grandpa Harris and Liam and Marion...concluding with the pensieve scene, which was unexpected. At least, Harry and Severus had fifty years together but still it was very sad.
