And I don't think this Dr. Seuss is quite known outside the English speaking world.
I wouldn't be surprised. He wrote children's books, and is very popular in the US. I know some of his books have been translated into Spanish and French, at least, but the whole thing about his writing is that he wrote in rhyme (to help kids learn) and often made up words, so he may not have translated very well. His books are very whimsical, both the pictures and the stories. And a lot of them are lessons about the wars and politics that occured in his life -- such as WWII -- but of course in a way that children can understand.
