Yes, there's a lot of stuff I didn't get an explanation in for because of time and the moment never seeming right for it. I'll have to rework the story at some point, or do something to make them clear... The short answer -- St. Mungo's used the horrors the participants would have seen in the war as an excuse to provide 'counseling' until they thought folks were okay, when really it was mostly so that they could be seen 'helping' the war heros and having the attention of the media on them for some time.
It made me cry several times.
