I loved it! The glimpses into poor harry's mind at the beginning was really heartbreaking.

And the last bit of the epilogue was totally awesome!!

An amazing story! I love how everything builds upon everything and how you characterized Harry. The ending was quite lovely, if a bit of a shock (I won't say what, since I don't want to spoil it for anyone). Grand work!~Sophia

I have always greatly admired your writing, but this story pushes my admiration to a new level. There historical facts, the characterizations, and your Severus were wonderful! This story was simply beatiful.

Oh! What a nice "Gotcha" there at the end!

And it made for a lovely, romantic AU, as well.
Nicely done!

Mm, yay for a nice, meaty Snarry! *glee*
This was really exciting, I had no idea how it was all going to turn out in the end. You kept me on the edge of my seat!
I enjoyed how you wove all the canon characters in, especially Minerva, Filch, the Malfoys and even Hermione. :)
And OMG, Neville! Eeep! Well done, hon. This was an engrossing tale.
You really delivered with this one. Lovely job! :)

Yay, Team PHOENIX!

Oh my god, that was brilliant. You got the tone completely right - I was amazed by how much I enjoyed this, and how excellent your characterization was. I think you need to write a gothic novel, my dear. And the ending twist was great. I am so impressed. So so impressed.

There seem to be lots of ARs this time around. I loved this story, though.

Oh, the ending, the ending. Wonderful.

Oh I really enjoyed it! I loved how you got the Dursleys involved with it, and spun a whole new, different story, while at the same time keeping it recognizable, character-vise. Loved your Harry, it was very sad to see the poor thing at the beginning ... and of course my and our dear Severus, interesting to see him this way. I loved the ending, great touch with Nev, didn't see that one coming at all, but brilliant. Thank you so much!

I couldn't stop once I started. Again, an AR with no magic, and I was halfway through before I realized. This had a whiff of Jane Eyre about it, with Snape as Jane, and Harry as the 'secret ghost' in the tower. I laughed at Snape's inner thought that his unnaturalness made him a freak, and I liked how you worked the other canon characters in, particularly Filch and Hermione. I was afraid that it was going to be too channish for me, but it didn't turn out that way at all.

Very nicely done; you certainly nailed your genres and prompt. Congrats.

This was brilliant! Loved all of it - the setting, the plot, how you worked in all the HP characters (and loads of love goes to the earl!). And that last bit in the epilogue was worthy of a happy shudder. Definitely didn't expect that!

Oh Wow, I have completely fallen in love with this fic, Annette. It is just unbelievable. It made me laugh until I ached, cry until I had no tears at the terrible suffering of Harry, and gasp out loud reading the last line. You built the intrigue so beautifully, the dialogue was utterly perfect and the descriptions flawless. I adored how you worked all the characters into new roles, and the twist at the end was just genius. This just leapt into my top five Snarrys ever. Fabulous xxx

When I read the prompt, I was expecting something cheesy, but it ended up something else entirely - an engrossing and complex story with surprising twists and turns. And the last bit about Neville completely threw me for a loop! Fabulous work :)

I'm probably going to repeat lots of the other comments . . . very nice AU/AR, and how did you know that Jane Eyre is one of my faves?!? Like how you fit the canon characters into the new setting while keeping them true to themselves. Best part, of course, is the twist at the end -- I had to read those last few lines three times! Wowzer -- good show.
