I can't think how, but this story is EPIC. So simple, in that old, old "boy meets girl [err, man, in this case], boy loses man, man finds man ...", but terrifically poignant, really lovingly characterized, so that the reader can't help but be immediately attuned to all these complex and deeply felt emotions. The poem is a brilliant touch, because the level of emotion there just sets everything off. This is a definite 10.
