I really could not stand Snarry all the way through to book six, even when Harry was written as an adult; the dynamics of the teacher/student relationship really disturbed me, in particular that relationship where Snape was so determined to hold his power over Harry's head. My definition of "non-con" changed somewhere around the time Dumbledore made Snape kill him, though (and I never for a second doubted that that was Dumbledore's idea, and Snape was a reluctant participant). That was a huge power-shifting moment for me.
