Oh god, the intensity, the emotion here just brings tears to my eyes. You can't really see any of their faces, but, *bawls*. This is perfect. And this is MY Canon. *sigh*

Lovely, the way the red in his hood picks out the red of the blood, which filters through Severus hair. Difficult angles to draw as well, but the part I like the most is Harry's clenched fingers in Severus' robe.

Wonderful emotion and body language. You can't see their faces, but somehow of all the death scene pics so far, yours conveys the greatest intimacy and loss. Wonderful!

This is amazing. We can't see Harry's face, but the pose, and the way his hands are clutching, conveys such depths of emotion. Beautiful -- one of my favorites so far.

Oh my god. This is absolutely heartwrenching and makes me want to cry. The way Harry grips Snape and has buried his face in Snape's neck - you captured so much emotion. And that's a very hard angle to do, wow. Wonderful work!

This is lovely. I had to relook at it to get the angst off of it, though... because I didn't see the angst at first. But it is there, and subtle and very well done. Thanks!

Your comment made me smile. I think it's all a matter of context isn't it. Without the blood, all this would be is a tender moment.

I'm so glad I made you smile!

Actually, it was the grip of Harry's hand in Severus' clothing. That is a desperation grip. That is a 'damn, why did this have to happen' clutching. Subtle, but it screams when you see it.

Kudos fur choosing such a difficult angle! And you made the perspective work very well, conveying strong emotion even with none of their faces truly visible.

Uhm, what's with the white patch next to Snape's face in the blood? Is it deliberate? I tried to see what it could possibly be but come up with nothing...

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]pennswoods
2007-10-24 03:27 am UTC (link)
It was deliberate, and was meant to be a part of his shirt colar. However, I think logically that there was probably so much blood that the collar would have been fully saturated so that no white remained.

Powerful work... The clenching hand, the hand in Severus' hair, the position of bodies, so intimate... if only it was a position of love, not death...

[info]pennswoods

If I were on team romance, this would definitely be a position of love - the precursor to the kiss that brought Severus back.

Alas, that would not be angsty enough.

So I'm in tears.... seriously. I must have missed this during the '07 games, but man.... Penns...... this hurts so damn much! I can practically see Harry vibrating with despair and feel his shock and pain and disbelief. The red... oh the red just ties everything together and the way that we're brought so close to them in the picture, it's not as though we can catch ourselves or get any kind of emotional distance by being further away - no, we're RIGHT IN THE ACTION.

Heartbreaking. Beautiful.
