CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 10, Swtalmnd!
Your Name: swtalmnd
Your Team: Romance
1. Now that the final word has been penned, what is your favourite canon Snape moment from all seven books? Harry? Snarry?
For Snarry, nothing quite beats Harry on his knees in Snape's office. For Harry, "it opens at the close", most definitely. For Snape, it's a melange of all the moments where we see the depth and complexity of his personality in a way very few other characters receive!
2. As we all know, despite being married and with children, Harry does in fact have Snape locked somewhere in his basement. The real question is this: Inferius!Snape or Ghost!Snape? Or...?
I'm all for "never died in the first place and living in Aruba with a suspicious fireplace connected to the Floo network" Snape, myself.
3. At the end of it all, does Snarry still make your heart beat? What does the future hold for the Snarry Fandom?
It does! I think fandom will shift and change, not only because of the close of canon, but also the natural shifts these things undergo, and the shifting from livejournal to other venues. Still, Snarry is by far the thing I get asked about or to write more of most often, though that might also have to do with my group of friends. ;)
4. Severus Snape: Hopeless or heartless?
Hopelessly complex, bitter, lonely and just waiting for Harry to make it all better.
5. Did Book Seven change your opinion of the pairing?
I was pleased that Harry grew up, and to see some more of Snape being a human being, but overall, nope.
6. What is one scene you wished you could have read, one that JKR clearly forgot in Book 7?
I wanted to see what happened after the Battle, before the Epilogue. How everyone came together, what rebuilding was done both physically and culturally, what changed. Though I am rather happy to be spared further H/G *eyeroll*.
7. What motivates you to be creative?
I can't really imagine not being creative, honestly. Things just bubble up out of my head, and I draw or write about them as I have the time and inclination. I like fandom because it gives a good structure to hang the ideas on especially the pervy ones and a built-in audience without the stress of trying to "sell" yourself, so I definitely think I've been a lot more creative since I found fandom and started participating.
8. The latest restrictions on art at Livejournal have affected many fanartists in many fandoms. How has it affected you?
It's driven me here! I moved my website to a more filter-friendly place (no one's going to mistake pornbunnyfarm.com for anything else, heh), I've moved my journal here, and I'll be deleting all the content on my livejournal. I've also stopped paying for my lj accounts, and bought a permanent account here at insanejournal, thanks to squeaky's wonderful welcome of fandom.
Mod says: Amen, sistah! (Thank you, Squeaky!)
9. Do you have a favourite piece of work (any subject) you wish to share with our viewers? Can you link it for us?
I'm going to reinterpret "favourite" as "recent", because, uh... Yeah, totally couldn't decide. I'm linking two, because I like the friendslocked one better ;)
Snape, G
Snape & Harry Paper Dolls, NC-17, locked
10. Are you excited about being in the Games this year?
I am, despite my trepidation about the scope of the project I've chosen. Meep!
Thank you, swtalmnd! Stay tuned for more interviews!
