Harry made his way to the Great Hall for breakfast, head full of dreams and possibilities. He dropped into the seat next to Severus. “Good morning,” was all he said, but the bright smile that accompanied the words made Severus blanch.

What had put that smile on the brat’s face? Did he have a lover? Severus’ heart sank. He’d never have a chance with Harry now. He sneered down his nose. Then the world tilted.

A hand laid on his arm. “Severus?” The brat was still smiling.

“Would you like to have dinner with me sometime?”

Severus could only nod.
