“Severus? Hey. Wake up.” Severus groaned and threw an arm across his eyes. An insistent finger assaulted his ribs. “Come on—you gotta feel this.”

He grunted. “Harry, you did not invent the morning stiffy.” The brat laughed and grasped Severus’ wrist, pulling it beneath the covers. “Oh, grow up!”

“You grow up,” Harry said, smiling, and Severus felt his hand pressed against the swell of Harry’s belly. A second later an unmistakable flutter danced beneath the flesh under Severus’ palm.

“Feel it?”

Severus nodded, awestruck. He leaned closer to Harry’s belly and whispered, “Again, little one . . . do it again.”
