A shrug of the shoulder that sends his hand sliding off.
A quick twist of the wrist to free his hand, even beneath the cover of the staff table's linen cloth.
Standing alone in the shadows at other Gryffindors' bonding celebrations, watching happy couples dance.
Harry knew, had known from the beginning, that Snape did not approve of public displays of affection. He understood that it was a condition of their relationship, his agreement not to violate that boundary.
