Thwock!
Severus craned his head.
Splash!
“Damn it.”
Thwock!...
…Splash!
“Merlin’s balls!” A vein ticked visibly on one temple.
Harry rolled his eyes. “For heaven’s sake Severus, why won’t you just take the penalty and be done with it?” He backed off, holding his hands up as Severus whipped around, glaring.
“It is,” Severus bit out, “the principle of the thing. I refuse to take the easy way out.” He turned, eyeing the target again.
Thwock!...
“See, Harry, I told you I could get it…”
Splash!
“For Circe’s sake!” Severus face turned puce, and he stomped off down the green fairway.

Severus swung the club hard against a tree, bending the metal. He dug out another white ball, trekked around the water hazard, and threw it onto the green. Harry quietly handed him the putter.
Narrowing his eyes, Severus waggled his hips a little, and precisely tapped the ball. It bounced across the manicured putting surface, rolling quickly by the hole, gaining momentum down the incline before landing in the sandtrap with a quiet thunk.
Many shots later, Harry sighed and marked bogey plus twelve on the score card. It was going to be a long way to the nineteenth hole.
