There was something to be said for not being noticed. Not being a part of Malfoy's crowd, she was not watched by the Gryffindors for suspicious activity and the other Slytherins ignored her for the same reason. So she sat and she watched, cataloguing everything she saw.

She had noticed the shift when no one else had. When everyone else was focused on the charade she saw what was truly happening. Yes, she'd noticed the detention like everyone else had but she'd also seen the self-satisfied smirk on Potter's face along with the suspicious answering glint in the professor's eyes.

Draco Malfoy was not as oblivious as people thought him to be. He did watch Potter; it was after all best to know your enemy. Truthfully, it was Millicent who had tipped him off with that smirk she always wore when she knew something others did not. So he began paying attention to her, then Potter and Professor Snape.

 

And if Snape has thrown his wand in with Potter, as it appeared he had, there was a lot to consider. He would wait; observe them before deciding on the next course of action. He needed more information before owling Father.
