A floating umbrella - kewl! What a wonderful accessory for outdoor occasions.
Sevvy was torn; he couldn’t leave Lulu unprotected! How could he help Snake but still mind Daddy, too?
Poor lil Sevvy, so young and already beset with such a dilemma. ::worries:: What's he gonna do?!
Laurel frowned at the annoying hissing-talk.
Oh phooey, does this mean baby Laurel isn't a parselmouth?
A green squirmy thing sailed over her head into Sevvy’s hand and Laurel grinned at her brother’s solution.
Oh well done, lil Sevvy! It's good to have magic! Yes it is! \o/
Snake seemed a cheeky thing! Perhaps, Laurel thought, it was time to display her newest achievement to divert his attention. She didn’t like doing something unless it was perfect, as Sevvy talked enough for both of them.
She lifted her arms, smiling. “Dad-dy!”
::rotflol:: Baby Laurel is such a devious lil darling! I loved reading her train of thought here. Lil Sevvy saves Snake and baby Laurel provides some timely distraction for her brother. Nifty!
All the toddler’s Gryffindor sensibilities were undermined by the Slytherin tendencies Severus was so proud of. In Sevvy’s case, his Gryffindor courage gave life to the Slytherin cunning!
I loved that: "Gryffindor courage gave life to the Slytherin cunning!" Good line!
Startled and elated, Harry scooped her up. He pretended not to see the calculated gleam in her dark green eyes, or the relief in Sevvy’s.
::heh:: Poor Harry will probably need to pretend not to see such things quite frequently from now on as these two imps continue with their antics.
Severus watched the scene unfold as he stepped from the house and had to smother his chortle of laughter. Little Severus, despite physically resembling him, was so much Harry in miniature, Gryffindor traits tempered by the Slytherin within him. Laurel, on the other hand, was much like Severus, silently observant, displaying abilities only when necessary. Severus didn’t doubt that his little princess was as protective of her brother as he was of her. As it should be, Severus thought, moving forward to hear Laurel call “Pa-pa!” when she saw him.
This was my favorite paragraph of the story. It was such a perfect summation of the situation: Lil Sevvy looks like his papa but inside he is pure Harry whereas baby Laurel, the image of her daddy, is very much like her papa with her clever mind; both children are a delightful mix of Gryffindor and Slytherin traits and so endearingly protective of each other. Terrific stuff!
The Sorting Hat would have a challenge with these two!
::snorts:: No kidding!
Harry loved when Severus lost control.
::snerk:: I'm happy when Harry and Seveus are happy and both seem very, very happy indeed at the end. ;)
