“Hush now, little wonder. Don’t you worry at all about him,” the young man soothed. “He might seem prickly and standoffish, but I know he loves you more than life itself. He doesn’t allow most people to see it, but he can be caring, loving, kind, and thoughtful. Wait until we get home before you pass judgment. When we’re all alone in our house, you’ll finally get a true picture of your father.”

“Are you quite through, Potter?” Severus chided gently.

“Perhaps,” Harry replied, raising his eyebrow in question. “Are you ready to give in and hold our baby girl?”
