A sudden burst of fireworks cast a glow over Harry’s flushed face.

Turning towards the window, he watched with satisfied eyes as the world celebrated, hardly able to believe it’d been three years since he’d killed Voldemort.

Ron had invited him to attend the Ministry Memorial Ball, but Harry had turned him down, having much better things planned for this evening than some stuffy ball.

“Do you wish that you were out there?” Severus’ gravelly voice asked, a sinewy arm snaking its way around his waist.

Harry smiled. “No. This is a much better celebration. Now, about that whipped cream...”
