They Apparated to Spinner's End, arriving under the street light in front of Snape's house. The light was orange, unnatural.
"I am glad I gave you an excuse to leave early. However, I do not need escorting any longer, Potter."
Harry peered at Severus' pinched features. "You're more than an excuse."
"Last week I was a mistake. Today you used me to embarrass that jackass Scrimgeour. How can I be more?"
"Because you are. Because I was wrong that first morning. I know better now, Severus."
Snape said nothing, his expression shuttered, suspicious.
Harry persevered. "Any chance of a coffee?"
