EARLY TO RISE

Severus quickly prepared toast and juice for breakfast. Then, he sat at the far end of the table. Picking up the Daily Prophet, he scanned the headlines. When he stopped to finally take a sip of his juice however, the glass was empty. A slice of his toast was missing.

Severus sighed, rising from his seat.

In the bedroom, he rearranged himself upon the bed, curling against the lump he had deposited there.

“You were half asleep at the table, you realize?”

The lump shrugged.

Severus cradled his husband against his body.

“Sleep then,” he whispered. “We’ll redo breakfast later.”
