The evening was getting late when Harry and Severus were able to step away from the rest of the merry makers.  "Here, open mine first." 

"Well, a jade mortar and pestle.  These are quite expensive.  You shouldn't have."

Harry smiled and opened the box from Severus.

"I think you forgot something.  It's empty!"

"I'm giving you my heart, my soul, and my mind.  There is not a box large enough to contain my feelings for you.  It's a gift I've never given, and far more valuable than anything I could offer.  Merry Christmas, Harry."

Harry fought back tears.  "Merry... merry..."
