Severus's understanding and handling of his disappointment was -- well, "nice" isn't the right word, but it was lovely to see a situation where everyone meant well and there was no way around hurting people's feelings and yet the person hurt was capable of understanding both that it wasn't about him and that he felt hurt regardless.

I'm not articulating this well, but what I'm trying to say that is that it pleased me to see the portrayal of someone that complex - and relationships that complex.
