Regulus was busily preparing a simple dish involving couscous, vegetables, and a bit of lamb, but he was paying attention, and he thought he heard an undercurrent of dissatisfaction in Harry's voice.
"I doubt Oliver has the experiences that allow him to empathize with Faelan the way you do," he said as he carried over some fresh vegetables and flatbrad to eat with hummus. "Here, this will tide you over while I finish dinner," he said, offering a carrot stick to Gaius with a wicked gleam in his eyes.
"As for you and Oliver," he continued, glancing at Harry, "did it ever occur to you that if the two of you are together, it gives Faelan more of a family rather than less? It is a matter of perspective," he added, thinking about his own recent shift of perspective, and he couldn't resist pausing to press a kiss to the top of Gaius' head because of it.
