Ron stood then and held up a hand. "If it's all right, I'd rather just head straight into it?"

Without waiting for them to answer, Ron drew in a deep breath, blew it out, and raised his eyes to theirs.

"I should've said this from the start, the second I saw you both once it...was over. But. I'm. I'm sorry. So very sorry for all of it, for everything I did and said. I..I tried to stop it, but it didn't work well, or for long, before I wasn't in control much at all. And I let him, he said things. He did things. Things I never would have...."

His voice failed him and he had to clear the lump of emotion from his voice.
