Gaius smiled and took Gaia, settling her down into his lap and cuddling her close. He pressed a kiss to her rosy cheek, inhaling the sweet scent of her skin, all fresh and clean. He suspected he'd never have children of his own - wasn't even certain he wanted any, to be honest - but he loved his brother's children fiercely, and little Gaia had his heart clenched firmly in her tiny fist.
"I see I've got my treat," he said playfully, bouncing Gaia on his knee. "Dormouse for dinner!"
"Unca Kitty siwwy!" Gaia said, then laughed at the bouncing.
