He winced, almost too fast to notice, at the mention of the little girl, but it was gone in a blink of his eyes. He also tried, unsuccessfully at first, to shrug himself out of her grasp.
"Blimey, woman, get off already!" He gave an almighty wrench and managed to get himself clear from her and move across the room. "How many times do I have to tell you I'm fine? If you want to see problems where they don't exist, that's your concern, but leave me straight out of it."
He turned and leveled his eyes on hers. "It was your idea to move here. If you don't like the way things are, you know the direction to the door, I believe."
