Faelan glanced down at his glass at Hermione's obvious distress. There was a time when he wouldn't have really cared that he was manipulating someone, using their pain against them, but things were different now. It was only when he reminded himself of one of the reasons why things were different - Padma - that he felt he had to push on.
"Yeah, it's easy most of the time. Not like you, with all those secret missions and mysteries and stuff." He smiled, trying to look as innocently endearing as he possibly could. "I guess that's why they call it the Department of Mysteries, right? But I like being outside. I don't think I could stay cooped up in a dark basement like that all the time."
