The road is long, with many of winding turns
Characters: Neville, Faelan Summary: The sharing of tea and news.
With a heavy sigh, Neville pulled the next pile of receipts towards him and began ticking them off against the accounts ledger.
He hated doing paperwork, but he felt that he had to work harder at keeping the invoices and contracts under control to compensate for the fact that Faelan was having to take over more of the nursery's physical work. Neville was doing as much as he possibly could, but where there was heavier lifting and the more challenging plants to deal with - those in the organic sections that couldn't be dealt with by magic - he was having to stop himself and let Faelan get on with it.
Unfortunately for his peace of mind, he hadn't actually told Faelan yet that the reason for this was his being pregnant, and he worried that Faelan might think he was taking advantage or being lazy. However, telling Remus and telling Faelan were two very different things. Whereas Neville looked to Remus for the advice of a father-figure, Faelan felt much like a younger brother to him, which made the prospect of telling Faelan infinitely more embarrassing.
He was going to have to tell him soon, though, and hearing Faelan arriving back from his deliveries, Neville reluctantly thought that now would have to do.
Waving his wand at the kettle, Neville got out a couple of mugs.
"Deliveries go alright?" he asked, as Faelan came into the office. "Want a cuppa?"
