Debi closed her eyes at the first sip, the better to savor the finish. She'd missed having a drink now and then when she was pregnant, even if Junior was healthy and utterly perfectly because she'd eaten right and not had so much as a drop of alcohol, and a good red was just what she needed. "Everything all right, honey? Or did Hawkins give you a hard time over the latest set of baby pictures?"
Mum thinned her lips at the mention of Zach's co-worker, but before she could say a word, a cranky yell sounded from the bedroom. Debi sighed and pushed back from the table. "Sorry, Junior wants her dinner, too. I'll be right back."
Mrs. Bashor rolled her eyes at how quickly her daughter sprang up and headed off to nurse. "Iaina is a lovely child, but really - Debi shouldn't let her interrupt dinner." She took a bite of roast and nodded at the perfect texture and taste. "Although I must say, Debi should be careful about what she eats. Right now she's looking a bit matronly, don't you think?"
