Gaius took the seat Remus pointed him toward, missing Serenus' presence. Not that Remus wasn't a help as well, but Serenus had definitely been his rock during the last few days, and he could tell that he might be starting to become a bit too dependent on his support.
"Thank you - I'll stay as long as I can stand," he replied, clinging to Remus' hand. There was understanding in Remus' eyes, and he thought that his inner turmoil was probably written not just in his face, but in his scent as well. He sighed, lifting his free hand to rub his face. "I just need to get through this. It's something I have to do."
