"Yes, he gave us that," Gaius said. He picked up his glass, then put it down again, his stomach churning. He was having a hard time feeling grateful about much of anything at the moment.
Lifting a hand to his head, he rubbed between his eyes. "I think I'll go contact my brothers, but I'll do it from the other room. If you'll excuse me, I'll see you all later." He moved to touch each of the others, just a gentle pressure of hand against shoulder, but meant to be reassuring. Then with a final nod he left the room.
As he stepped out of sight of his friends his shoulders slumped, and he made his way toward the library. He couldn't make the Floo call from what had been his and Sirius' bedroom. Part of him doubted that he would ever be able to enter that room again.
