Where loose ends still have uses
Character: Mr Bevan of Gringotts Bank
Summary: Magical legalities can be a tricky business
The large clock above the mantle piece chimed the hour. Bevan glanced up at the ormolu face, smiling slightly as he remembered the consternation on the goblin committee's faces when he had first installed the Muggle antique.
The door opened and his assistant walked in, almost obscured by the pile of papers that he was carrying. Bevan thanked him for his hard work and turned his attention back to settling the many disputes the Gringotts' account holders had.
For the most part these were issues of succession, where one branch of a family disagreed with the inheritance going to another, and easily handled under the law's guidance. However, half way through the pile, Bevan came across a set of papers which were familiar to him - familiar because he had found them so interesting the first time around.
"So what have you done now..." he muttered aloud as he scanned the documents. It seemed that the Hedera estate had passed hands again, and yet not...
"Interesting," he muttered. His gaze flicked to the paper he had been reading in his break, and to the photograph on the front page. "It seems that you will get yet another chance, Mr Elias."
He snorted as he looked back at documentation, the golden line the magical document had automatically drawn throught the name 'Barty Elias ap Rilind Hedera' and the correction made below. It was shame 'Barty Elias' was a name with less weight, but it looked like he was going to have to take a trip down to the Ministry to get some papers signed.
