He saw no reason to mention that Remus did share Severus with someone else - that would probably fall in the arena of too much information for Harry and Sirius' comfort.
Pulling his wand, Gaius cast a drying charm on the ale soaked area, only to stop, frowning, as it failed. "What in hell?" he asked, then shook his head and tried again, with only marginal success. "Too much cognac, I suspect. Sorry, gents."
