"And what if he's fooling you?" Faelan shouted, tossing his sandwich down and getting to his feet. "That's only a mistake you have to make once, you know, and you could be dead! I know you think you're being noble, and maybe I don't get to tell you who to be friends with, but can't I at least have an opinion? Bugger it!" he cried, throwing his hands up. "Forgive me for liking you alive!"
Faelan was trembling, shaking with a fury now that was just as much stubborn pride as anything else. He knew he wasn't wrong to be worried about her, to want to keep her safe, and at the moment he didn't exactly care if he was stepping out of line. She was refusing to see reason!
