Faelan's tone was sharp, and Padma felt a brief flare of anger, which she pushed away immediately. She was not required to report to him every time she left the shop, but, after what had happened, after he had received insufficient explanation, perhaps he had the right to be anxious.
"I was in London," Padma said calmly. She pulled the last of the food from the basket and set it aside. Crossing her legs under herself, she sat and handed him a plate. "Partly visiting Parvati and the baby, now that traveling isn't so difficult, and partly visiting a friend who is in prison."
