A Victory Celebration Characters: residents of Haven's Loft Summary: Regulus prepares dinner in celebration and in thanks.
Now that a couple of days had passed since the confrontation in the Department of Mysteries, it seemed life was returning to normal. The clean-up was underway, and the papers were full of articles and opinion pieces, most of them negative when it came to the Ministry of Magic, which Regulus was mostly ignoring in favor of relaxing and recuperating in peace. The Dark Mark had faded completely once more, which was a profound relief. The Dark Lord was still safely behind the Veil, and Regulus was safe.
For that alone, he found cause for celebration, thus he decided to prepare a dinner for his temporary house-mates, partly in celebration and partly in thanks. He would be packing up and returning to his own home now that the danger had passed, and he no longer needed protection from the Dark Lord, but he wanted to show his appreciation first.
He prepared Sayyadiah - fish with rice - and Hummus bi-Tahina with chocolate cake for dessert. That wasn't exactly Egyptian cuisine, but he thought it might be best to end on a familiar note. He opened a bottle of wine, but he also had juice on hand just in case, and he appointed the task of setting the table to Harry.
Everything was ready at the exact time he'd said it would be, and so he wiped off his hands and went into the dining room to wait for the rest of the household to arrive at the table.
