Hermione didn't have time or breath to waste on cursing as Bellatrix ducked her spell and darted through the crowd. It was chaos: ghosts flying into and out of the Veil, Death Eaters and Order members, Sirius and Bellatrix sniping at each other, people she didn't recognize -
"Granger! You're awake!" Jack Fraser ran up, hair flopping in his face. He'd been so bitter about the loss of magic that he'd started referring to himself as "Bill Tanner's teaboy," but now he looked positively drunk on power.
Hermione glanced at Ron long enough to assure herself that he was alive and well (and more than holding his own - the old battle instincts were kicking in for all of them, it seemed), then gave Jack a terse nod. "Just woke up. What's going on?"
"Minister and senior officials are secure. Tanner sent me down to check - ripple effect, you know." Jack ducked a diffindo and cast a pushing spell that sent two Death Eaters smacking against the wall. "Glad you're back!"
"So am - eleven o'clock! Stupefy!" It felt marvelous to wield power so easily again. Hermione laughed for the sheer joy of it. "He's going to try to come through - let's get him!"
