"That she is, and a dab hand with the DVD player last I checked," he smiled, leaning over to kiss her forehead. "I rather see where you got your spunk from, Deborah Anne, now I've met her."
He couldn't help but laugh when her stomach bullied it's way into the conversation. "I've managed a word with the food services lot and a load of eggs, bacon and muffins are on their way as we speak. But," he paused, reaching into a bag near his feet, "in the meantime...."
Without further comment, he handed her a small, brown paper bag.
