An Interrupted Evening Characters: Harry, Regulus, Sirius Summary: Regulus gets an unexpected and unpleasant blast from the past. Follows this scene.
It had been quite some time since Regulus had hosted any kind of gathering, large or small, at his flat, but he had been to Haven's Loft more frequently of late, and he thought it was time to return the favor. Thus he had invited Sirius and Harry to join him for a meal, and he decided to cook himself, since he rather liked showing off his skill in preparing Egyptian cuisine. He was serving Fattah with stewed eggplant, and he had chosen a nice bottle of wine to accompany the food.
Rather than stand on formality, he had rearranged the furniture in his living room to accomodate a low table surrounded by cushions, and he set the table with his everyday plates and silverware instead of the fine china. He also decided against dressing up for the occasion, wearing casual robes, suitable for lounging in. He wanted this to be a comfortable evening, and he thought creating a relaxed setting would help start things off well.
Satisfied that everything was in order, he opened the wine, poured himself a glass, and waited for his guests to arrive.
