Gaius, seated at a table close to the front of the stage, grinned as Sirius came out into the light, all power and posture and sex appeal. He didn't always get to come see his lover perform, but he'd managed to get all his grading done, leaving him a free evening for once.
He himself was dressed in tight velvet pants and a loose, lacy shirt open at the throat low enough to reveal the upper planes of his chest. A glass of cognac sat on the table in front of him, along with an open bottle and another glass for Sirius, if Sirius should choose to join him.
"He looks ridiculous," a voice said to one side of him, and Gaius glanced over to find James looking at Sirius with disdain.
"He looks fantastic," Gaius said, then shrugged as James turned to regard him with an expression Gaius couldn't quite read. "I think my opinion matters more than yours, since he's my lover, not yours."
James grinned. "But he's my friend, so I can say he looks ridiculous."
Gaius rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Sirius. No wonder Severus had found this James Potter tiresome in life. Really, Harry must take more after his mother, since Lily was pleasant to have around and not a great annoying prat like her husband. Really, what had she ever seen in him?
