As Barty walked through Hogsmeade he looked about him at the ongoing repairs happening at some of the shops, and the freshness of the paint on others. The sight of it took him back to what had happened that day, and the feeling that had come over him, not of unity, but of distinct duality. His souls had not combined, but for a few hours, both sides of him had worked towards a common goal, wanting to bring Bella and her plans to ruin.
Shaking his head, he hurried on to Padma's bookshop. He hadn't wanted to come back to Hogsmeade and confront his fears about what had happened, but he craved human contact, and right now the bookshop was truly his only haven in that respect.
He stepped quickly up to the door, turned what appeared to be a new handle, and slipped inside. "Hello? Padma?"
