Hermione smiled at her old mentor's greeting. She'd always admired Professor McGonagall as a strong, brave, competent woman, and had done her best to be the same. That she wasn't a teacher right now didn't mean that she might not want to settle down at Hogwarts someday, or at another school.
She noticed the tiny grin and returned it with a raised eyebrow. Ron should know better, but then again, he hadn't been nearly as close to their old Head of House. Someday I'll tell him stories that will *really* turn his ears red...
