Sirius winced. "Gaius!" he protested, hoping desperately that James didn't take that to mean that Sirius had remarked on his more hidden assets. "Don't inflate his ego any further, thanks. He doesn't have Harry's absurd level of power." To soften that, he grinned at James. "Though if you put both of them on the same Quidditch team, they'd probably be unbeatable."
James, who had been preening, scowled. "If I could hold a Quaffle, yes. I'm not much good when it goes right through me." Recovering, he winked at Gaius. "If he told you that, between us, we had all the girls in our year, he has exaggerated. I've heard the claim, but I'm certain at least two of the Slytherins and one Hufflepuff left school intact. Other than that, it's all true. Every word."
Sirius could feel himself turning red. "I never claimed that!"
"Well, I certainly didn't want anyone thinking I'd shagged Euphemenie Jackson," James volunteered, as if agreeing.
