Realizing after she said it that she really shouldn't trivialize something that was so difficult for him to talk about, Padma grasped his hand tightly and leaned closer.
"I don't mean to act like it's nothing, because obviously it's a big part of who you are." And explains a lot of how you could pick up those giant boxes of books... "But I'm not prejudiced, and I am certainly not going to stop liking you just because you happen to turn into a ravening beast once a month." Padma squeezed his hand. "I've been around you a lot these last few weeks, and I trust you, Faelan. You're not going to harm me. Yes, there are some nasty werewolves out there, but there are humans who are just as bad. It's who you are that matters, not what type of being you are."
Gently, as though not to startle him, Padma moved back onto his lap and pressed her lips against his again.
"I'm not going anywhere," Padma said, running her fingers through his hair. "So if you want out, you'll have to ditch me."
