Faelan had paused for a long time, and Padma was concerned. Was she pushing him too fast? Was he going to end things? The latter would explain why he seemed so jumpy, but he was still holding onto her hand when he said that he'd come up.
Quietly, she led him to the bookcase and slipped her hand toward the back of the third shelf down, triggering the latch to swing the bookcase out and reveal the stairs up to her flat. A flick of her wand closed the door behind them, and she led him up to the softly lit door. A tap of her wand opened that as well, and she pulled him inside.
"Well, this is it," Padma said, smiling up at him. She eyed her flat, trying to see it from an outside perspective. It wasn't messy so much as... full, with bookshelves all along the walls, nearly groaning from the weight of the books on them. There were books stacked on the floor, on the table, on the couch. Everywhere she didn't need to walk, really. Her desk was mostly clean and the fireplace was clear, though, out of necessity.
"Kitchen's through that door. Bathroom there, and bedroom there," she said, pointing from left to right. She dropped his hand and cleared the stack of books from the couch. She looked up at him, smiling sheepishly. "Reading about the life of the wild phoenix. Here, there's room to sit now."
