A kiss can be a comma, a question mark, or an exclamation point. Characters: Padma, Faelan Summary: They say Valentine's Day is for confessions...
Padma sighed in relief as the last of the customers finally left the shop, more than half an hour later than her usual closing time. She glanced around outside, making sure no one was running up the street to get to the bookshop.
The last three people that had come in had all had variations on a theme: "Help! I'm dating a Ravenclaw!"
Satisfied that no one else was coming to do last-minute Valentine's Day shopping, Padma shut the door and locked it. She turned and smiled when she saw that the store was mostly clean and neat, thanks to Faelan. He seemed extra energetic tonight, and at one point she wondered if he were going to start climbing the walls.
It wasn't impossible. Padma's cousin had done it at age three, terrifying all the aunties.
Padma had a sudden thought that maybe he was nervous about Valentine's Day. She wasn't expecting anything, as they hadn't been seeing each other long at all, but they'd never really discussed it.
A few quick spells took care of the last of the cleaning - though her Banishing charm took twice to work - and they were done. Faelan still seemed nervous or excited or something, so Padma decided something needed to be done to relax him. And it would be more comfortable upstairs...
He followed her into the back room while she put away the money, and once that was done, Padma turned and smiled at him, taking his hand.
"I'm a bit tired tonight. Do you want to go up to my flat? It's more comfortable up on my couch."
